About
Highly Sensitive
The site is about a variety of personal dimensions of the trait of high sensitivity – plus some material on shyness and introversion, which for many of us seems to be related to being highly sensitive.
But, as Elaine Aron notes “Shyness is learned, not innate. In fact, 30% of HSPs are extraverts, although the trait is often mislabeled as introversion.”

Dr. Aron is one of the experts in the field, and gives a brief summary in this video.

Shyness and introversion may seem to be the same in some ways, at least on the surface.
They can overlap, and we may have both traits – but they are not the same thing. And they are not the same as the trait of high sensitivity.
